At its Congress earlier this Summer, FEDIAF EuropeanPetFood, welcomed its new President, Rosa Carbonell, Head of Veterinary Advocacy Europe, Nestlé Purina. Rosa will work alongside the FEDIAF team to guide the European pet industry through the next two years.

With over 20 years of experience in the Pet Care industry in pet food and pharmaceuticals, Rosa also has a track record in national trade associations and in the IESE Women management forum.  Rosa holds a Veterinary degree from the University Autònoma of Barcelona, an MBA from Girona University and a Program for Directive Development (PDD) from the IESE Business School. Rosa has excellent technical knowledge and has helped steer FEDIAF’s Review committee over recent years.

Rosa comments: “I am honoured to take up this role as FEDIAF President and am mindful of the duty to represent our members. I look forward to working with the team to ensure that our industry can meet the demands of the 90 million households in the EU requiring safe and nutritious food, that contributes to the health and wellbeing of pets.”

“We will continue to work closely with EU policy makers to ensure our concerns are heard and taken on board.  It is critical that important legislative decisions, such as discussion about the use of Category 3 animal fats, are taken with precaution and consider the complete sustainability cycle that includes pet food.”

Alice Tempel Costa, FEDIAF Technical Director, adds: “We are delighted to have Rosa on board.  Rosa has supported FEDIAF for a number of years and, with her as President, we are in very experienced hands. Rosa has worked with us with many projects over the Summer and it is going to be an action-packed two years!”

FEDIAF aims to be the credible and responsible voice of the European pet food industry collaborating with authorities, regulators and academics and civil society for achieving favourable conditions for the supply of safe, nutritious and palatable products. FEDIAF is fully committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, to the wellbeing of pet animals, to their important social role and to the respect of sustainable development.
