FEDIAF Announces Programme and Speakers for Its 2026 Annual Congress
FEDIAF, the European Pet Food Industry Association, is pleased to announce the full programme and confirmed speakers for its Annual Congress 2026, to be held on 10 June 2026 at the Cardo Hotel in Brussels, from 14:00 to 17:30.
This year’s Congress will be held under the theme “Future-Ready Pet Food: Policy, Innovation and Consumers for the Next Decade,” bringing together policymakers, industry representatives, and stakeholders from across the pet food value chain for a half-day of forward-looking discussion.
Programme
The Congress will open with a welcome address by the FEDIAF President, who will speak on behalf of an industry that feeds hundreds of millions of pets across Europe and plays a significant role in the continent’s agricultural, manufacturing, and innovation landscape.
The afternoon programme is then built around two high-level sessions designed to spark frank, forward-looking debate:
Session 1 — The Future of Pet Food: Innovation and Regulation, Moving Forward Together?
From novel ingredients and alternative proteins to feed additive approval pathways, how can regulation keep pace with a rapidly innovating industry? To answer this question, we will start the session with a keynote address by Claire Bury, Deputy Director General at DG SANTE, followed by a panel bringing together David John from FEFANA, Matthew Elliot from Mars Petcare, and cultivated protein pioneer Meatly, represented by its CEO Owen Ensor.
Session 2 — The European Consumer of 2030
Who will be buying pet food in 2030 — and what will they expect? Trend analyst Herman Konings will examine how Gen Z and Gen Alpha are reshaping pet ownership, brand loyalty, and purchasing behaviour. Liseth Galvis-Corfe from Euromonitor will bring the numbers to life, unpacking what is driving European pet food markets today and where they are heading. Nestlé Purina Petcare Europe’s Maud Hua-Bulteau will complete the discussion with a frontline perspective on how consumer trends are shaping product development and marketing strategies.
