Brussels, 7th January 2026 – FEDIAF, the European Pet Food Industry Association, is pleased to announce the appointment of Franco Garbelotto as Deputy Secretary General, effective 1st January 2026.

Franco currently serves as Public Affairs & Communications Manager at FEDIAF and will continue to fulfil these responsibilities, while taking on the additional role of Deputy Secretary General. In this expanded capacity, he will support the Secretary General in the overall strategic management of the federation, coordination of Secretariat activities, and engagement with EU institutions and key stakeholders.

Since joining FEDIAF, Franco has played a central role in strengthening the federation’s EU advocacy and visibility, leading public affairs and communications work across major regulatory dossiers, and enhancing coordination with member associations, partner organisations and EU policymakers. His appointment reflects FEDIAF’s commitment to continuity, institutional knowledge and an integrated approach to policy, technical expertise and communications.

As Deputy Secretary General, Franco will work closely with the Secretary General and the wider Secretariat team to advance FEDIAF’s priorities, including safe and nutritious pet food, responsible pet ownership, and sustainability across the pet food value chain.
